NYU Tied for Second Place After First Round of NYU/Manhattanville Invitational

The New York University men's golf team is sitting in a tie for second place out of 11 teams after the first round of play at the NYU/Manhattanville Fall Invitationa, which was heldl on Saturday, October 11, at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, NJ.

NYU shot 305 as a team and is tied with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for second, just four shots back of first-place Skidmore College (301).

Paul Park was the lowest scorer on the day for the Violets, as the reigning Liberty League Performer of the Week shot a one-over 72. He trails Zack Grossman of Skidmore (69) by three strokes.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Kevin Chien and Matthew Gjonaj were the second-lowest scorers for NYU in round one. Both players are tied for seventh after shooting 77's.

Daniel Lynch (79) is tied for 19th and Hartej Gill (80) is tied for 24th.

- The NYU B-squad (332) is in eighth place after round one. Christopher Nolte (81) led the way and is tied for 26th. Charles Van Cook(82, tied for 33rd), Julius Oppenheimer (83, tied for 37th), Bryce Holmes (86, tied for 43rd), and Dan Valente (93, 54th) also competed for the B-squad.

Elliot Arazi competed as an individual, shooting an 86 and is tied for 43rd.
