From NYU Athletics
The New York University men's golf team finished in second
place (608) of 11 teams at the St. Lawrence
University Invitational, which was held on Saturday and Sunday,
Septmeber 6-7, in Canton, NY.
The Violets finished Saturday's first round in first place (301),
four strokes in front of competition host St.
Lawrence. On Sunday, NYU shot 311 overall, falling to SLU who shot
295 and 596 overall.
Freshman Daniel Lynch recorded the
team's lowest overall score (149), shooting 74 on day one and 75 on
day two. He tied with SUNY Canton golfer Nolan Reid for fourth
place.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Freshman Paul Park placed
10th overall (153) after leading the Violets on day one of
competition.
- Senior co-captain Matthew
Gjonaj shot 154 overall (76-78), tying for 11th
place.
