From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics
The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team placed first at its annual fall invitational Thursday, October 15 at the Longue Vue Club as the team carded a 307. Top individual medalist honors went to Tartan junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland).
Jennette and freshman teammate Austin Lin (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) both entered the clubhouse with a five-over par 75, but Jennette was declared the winner by match of cards. It was a season-best round for Jennette while Lin's tied his low round of the fall.
Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) finished two strokes back with a 77 followed by sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) and junior Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) with rounds of 80 and 85, respectively.
The Tartans entered a 'B' Team into the invitational while all members will be listed as individuals the team fired a score of 340. Freshman Adrian Berger (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) led the way with an 83. Junior Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) and freshman Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) carded rounds of 85 while Junior Ryan Karbowicz (Avon, Conn.) and sophomore Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) both shot 87.
Three other individuals competed for the Tartans, as freshman Nicholas Moreno (Hawthorne, Calif./Windward School) fired an 80, sophomore John Shlonsky (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) shot an 85 and senior Ben DuCarme (McMurray, Pa./Canon-McMillan) had an 88.
