The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team hosted its annual spring invitational on Wednesday, April 6 and carded a 304 to place first as a team. The 18-hole event was held at the Longue Vue Club. Top individual medalist honors went to Tartan junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy).

Qian carded a four-over par 74 while sophomore Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) tied a season-best round with a 75. Junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland) fired a 77. Sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) shot a78. Junior Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) rounded out the Tartans top five with an 88.

The Tartans entered a 'B' Team into the invitational, while all members will be listed as individuals in the results, the team fired a score of 311 and placed second. Junior Ryan Karbowicz (Avon, Conn.) led the 'B' squad with a 75 with junior Alex Woodward (Aurora, Ontario) entering the clubhouse with a 78. Junior Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) and freshman Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) both shot a 79 while freshman Nicholas Moreno (Hawthorne, Calif./Windward School) end the round with an 85.

Three other individuals competed for the Tartans, freshman Adrian Berger (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) carded an 84, classmate Austin Lin (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) shot a 90 and sophomore John Shlonsky (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) finished the day with a 93.
