Klodowski Leads Men’s Golf at First Day of TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the first day of the TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday, March 7.  The two-day, 54-hole event is being held on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C. with 36 holes being played on Monday.

Carnegie Mellon is in eighth place following the first 36 holes of play with a 620 after firing rounds of 308 and 312.

Junior Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) fired rounds of 75 and 78 for a 153 to lead the Tartans.  Sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) finished day one a stroke behind Klodowski with a 154 (76-78).  

Juniors Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) and George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) finished Monday with scores of 156 and 157.  Jennette carded back-to-back rounds of 78 while Qian opened play with a 79 before following with a 78. Freshman Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) rounded out the Tartans top five with a 162 (79-83).

Carnegie Mellon had three individuals enter the field with junior Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) leading the way with a 160 (82-78). Sophomore Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) carded a 167 (80-87) and freshman Austin Lin (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) finished the day with a 189 (92-97).
