The New York University men's golf team completed play at the Hershey Cup, hosted by the University of Rochester at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA. The tournament took place from Sunday to Monday, April 3-4.

The Violets tied for 12th place out of 15 teams with a two-round score of 663 (344-319). Carnegie Mellon University won the tournament with a score of 624 (309-315).

"We were much better today and played like the young team we know we have," said NYU Head Coach Todd Kolean. "The last few holes were still a little shaky, so we still need to learn to close stronger."

Eric Tarakjian paced NYU throughout and finished in a tied for 18th out of 87 golfers. The junior shot a two-round 159 (81-78) and climbed four spots in the standings from Sunday to Monday.

"Eric played well both days under very adverse weather conditions," continued Kolean.

Matthew Love, who jumped 28 spots in the standings on Monday, was the second-best finisher for the Violets. The junior tied for 42nd at 165 (89-76) and his second-day 76 was NYU's best individual round of the tournament.

"This was Matt's first stroke-play tournament for NYU and he proved he is ready to step into a leadership role," Kolean said.
