NYU Stands in Fourth at Williams Invitational

New York University's men's golf team is currently in fourth place after round one of the Williams College Invitational, which is being held on Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13, at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, MA.

The Violets finished the first day of competition in fourth place out of 20 teams after shooting 303 overall. Rhode Island College is in first place with a score of 298.

Sophomore Paul Park shot a two-over 73, tying him for fourth place out of 100 golfers with Trinity College's Will Rosenfield.

"I thought we played really well -- better than we did last week -- and it was a harder course," said Head Coach Todd Kolean. "We really did great all day long up until the last three holes."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Freshman Lucas Oberholtzer is tied for 11th place after finishing the day with a 75.

- Sophomore Hartej Gill shot a 77 and is tied for 31st place.

- Senior Julius Oppenheimer finished the round with a 78, which tied him for 43rd.

"I thought we played really well at a very tough tournamnent," added Kolean. "We expect to go out tomorrow; it might be raining all day but we're ready for it."
