Tartans Compete in Opening Round of Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the first round of the Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Fall Invitational in Flowery Branch, Georgia on Monday, October 3, and carded a team score of 296 to stand tied for seventh-place heading into play on Tuesday in a field of 18 teams. The 36-hole event is being played at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club with par 72.

Junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) tied his career-best round by firing an even-par 72 to lead the Tartans after 18 holes of play. Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) entered the clubhouse with a one-over par 73 and classmate Brad Jennette(Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland) carded a season-best round of two-over par 74.

Sophomore Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) shot a five-over par 77 while senior Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) ended play on Monday with an 86.
    
The Tartans had one individual enter the invitational, as junior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) carded a round of two-over par 74.
