From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

For the first time in program history, the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team earned a place in the Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll that was announced Friday, October 21 by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Tartans are currently ranked 24th and received 49 votes.
    
Carnegie Mellon competed in four tournaments in the fall season and recorded a team scoring average of 297.0 over eight rounds of competition. In the four events, the Tartans won one, placed second in two and finished sixth in a field of 17 teams at the Oglethorpe Royal Lakes Invitational, an event that had a field of five teams ranked in the top 20 in the nation.

The Tartans are led by senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) who averaged a 73.8 through eight round this fall and was crowned the individual medalist at the Carnegie Mellon Fall Invitational.  Junior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) and sophomore Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) are second and third on the team in scoring average, after each playing in all eight rounds. Del Bosque averaged a 74.5 and Tan a 75.1.

Junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) and seniors Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland) and Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) all contributed to the Tartans success this fall. Mohan and Jennette competed in eight rounds and averaged 75.8 and 75.9, respectively, while Klodowski averaged a 76.0 and played in seven rounds.
