Carnegie Mellon Wins Second Consecutive Annual Spring Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team placed first at its annual spring invitational for the second consecutive season on Thursday, March 30 after carding a 304. The 18-hole event was held at the par 70 Longue Vue Club in Verona, Pennsylvania. Top individual medalist honors went to Tartan junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) who fired a four-over par 74. The win marked Mohan's first collegiate individual medalist honor.
    
Seniors George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) and Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland) tied for second individually in a field of 54 golfers, as both entered the clubhouse with a 76. Sophomore Adrian Berger (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) placed fifth after carding a 78 on Thursday while junior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) finished with an 82.
    
The Tartans had three individuals play in the invitational with senior Alex Woodward (Aurora, Ontario) leading the trio with an 82. Senior Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) fired an 83 and sophomore Nicholas Moreno (Hawthorne, Calif./Windward School) carded an 86.
