Carnegie Mellon Receives GCAA Academic Accolades for 2016-17 Season

The 2016-17 Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was one of 29 NCAA Division III institutions in receiving the All-Academic Team award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Tartans finished the year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.29.

Georgia State (Division I), St. Edward's (Division II), Kalamazoo (Division III), Governors State (NAIA), Central Alabama (NJCAA DI) and Mineral Area College (NJCAA DII) have been named Academic National Champions for their respective divisions, announced the GCAA. Georgia State posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.85.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. Including all divisions (NCAA I, II, III and NAIA) a total of 187 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.
