Veteran members of the Emory golf team will get a jump on the impending 2016-17 season, when it embarks upon an overseas excursion to Scotland that will see it play some of the most renowned courses in the world. 

Head coach John Sjoberg and his squad will depart from Atlanta on Wednesday (Aug. 10) before returning home on Thursday, Aug. 18.  A list of the courses that Emory will be playing on is as follows.

8/11- St. Andrews Bay Torrence course – Hosted the Senior European Tour six times from 2009-2014

8/12 - TBA 

8/13 -  Crail Golfing Society - 7th oldest in the world

8/14 - Carnoustie – Seven-time site of The Open Championship, with the event to be played there again in July of 2018

8/15 - Nairn – Home to the 1999 Walker Cup and the 2012 Curtis Cup 

8/16 - Royal Dornoch – Home of famed golf course designer Donald Ross

8/17 - Brora GC -- The course has the distinction of having its fairways and rough maintained by the grazing of sheep

8/18 - return to ATL

"We are really excited about this trip," Sjoberg said.  "This is a wonderful and unique experience getting to travel to Scotland and play some great golf courses. It will challenge the guys to play in all conditions.  This trip will be a great opportunity for traveling and playing together.
