Emoy Golf Blog #4 From Scotland

From Emory University Athletics

Today we are switching locations, but not before a once in a lifetime opportunity to play the famous championship course of Carnoustie. We are enjoying beautiful weather. Mind you, it is still windy and tough but beautiful nonetheless. The course lived up to its reputation of being one of the hardest courses in the world, but fortunately for us, good scores are being shot.

In the first group we have Connor, Noah, Tony and coach himself. Connor and coach led the pack with a pair of 73's. While I do not have many details about their round, it is never a surprise to see coach play well. I had the privilege of seeing Connor hole a twenty foot putt on the 18th from the fairway. Complemented with a "Tiger" fist pump and everything.  I am told it was to win a doubles match – impressive to say the least. Behind them, Keenan and I are going head-to-head. Another tight match, we are about even all day. Tied heading into the last hole, I am able to hit my approach shot in close to four feet for birdie. Keenan ran into some trouble, and after I converted my birdie putt to shoot 74 I clipped him by two.

A wonderful day with good competition that did not end until almost midnight when we arrived at Dornoch Castle hotel in north Scotland. Trip has been great so far, hungry for more.
