Emory Continues Play At NCAA D-III Fall Preview

The Emory University golf team concluded second-round play at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview on Monday.  The 54-hole event is being played at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. 

Playing on the 6,820-yard, par-72 El Campeon Course, Emory wound up the second day of play tied with Berry College for 10th place out of 18 teams.  The Eagles finished with a mark of 317 on Monday, leaving them with a 36-hole score of 604.  Huntingdon College is leading with a 575 (282-293) while Mary Hardin-Baylor and Wittenberg are deadlocked for second place at 593.  Washington and Lee, Oglethorpe and Methodist are tied for fourth with scores of 599.

Freshman Matt Organisak turned in Emory's best second-round score, posting his second-straight 76, with his 152 tying for 38th place out of 92 players.  Junior Keenan Hickton finished with a 78 and his two-day effort of 147 ties for 11th on the leader board.  Junior Sean Murphy totaled a 79 and owns a 36-hole mark of 154, while sophomores Anthony Muscato and Connor Yakubov each shot 84s on Monday.

Will Thrash and Addison Lambeth of Huntingdon are tied for first at 142 with Kyle Shealy of Oglethorpe one shot off the pace.
