Emory Stands Seventh After Two Rounds At Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational

The No. 12-ranked Emory University golf team stands seventh after two rounds of action at the Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational. The 54-hole tourney is being held at the 6,717-yard, par-71 Raven Course at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort. 

The Eagles posted a Monday score of 298 that gives the squad a 36-hole mark of 587. No. 10 UT-Tyler continues to set the pace for the 19-team field with its second-round performance six-under par 278 leaving it at 563, 18 strokes of second-place co-holders Huntingdon College (287-294) and Methodist (292-289). Rhodes College and Concordia University (TX) are deadlocked for the No. 4 spot with each squad owning a 584.

Emory freshman Chuck Isgar (Los Angeles, CA) remains in the hunt for medalist honors with his even-par 71 on Monday giving him a two-day score of 139, good for third place in the 95-player field. DJ Godoy of UT-Tyler leads all players with an eight-under 134 (67-67) while Connor O'Neil of Illinois Wesleyan is two shots off the pace (66-70).

Freshman Matt Organisak (Sudbury, MA) shot an even-par on 71 for the Eagles during the second day of action and his three-over score of 145 positions him 17th on the leader board. Also figuring in Emory's scoring on Monday were junior Sean Murphy (Decatur, GA) with a 77 and sophomore Stefano Butti (Palm City, FL) with a 79.  Junior Keenan Hickton (Pittsburgh, PA) finished with a score of 80.
