Emory 14th After Three Rounds At NCAA Championships

The No. 3-ranked Emory University golf team completed its third round of action at the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday afternoon. The third and fourth rounds are being playedon the 6,844 yard, par-72 El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort located in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Emory ranks 14th on the team leaderboard with its Thursday showing of 17-over par 305 giving it a 54-hole total of 915. No. 10-ranked Wittenberg moved into the top position, coming through with a 299 on Thursday that gives it a three-day mark of 887. Guilford is second at 889 (300-293-296) while No. 1-ranked Huntingdon dropped a couple of spots to third with a score of 890 (293-291-306).

Sophomore Stefano Butti (Palm City, Fla.) continued his steady play, leading the Eagles' third-round contingent with a two-over par 74. Butti is 22nd overall on the leader board through three days with a seven-over par 223 (74-75-74). Junior Keenan Hickton came through with his best outing of the Championships, carding a three-over par 75. Sophomore Connor Yakubov and freshman Matt Organisak rounded out the team's scorers with showings of 75 and 79, respectively. Organisak is Emory's No. 2 overall performer with a score of 229 (75-75-79) while Yakuobov has totaled a 231 (77-77-77).  Hickton stands at 237 (82-80-75).  Freshman Sam Galloway shot an 86 on Thursday and stands at 244.
