The Emory University golf team closed out its participation at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.  The 36-hole event was held at the 6,838-yard, par-72 Royal Lakes Golf Club in nearby Flowery Branch.

The No. 12-ranked Eagles shot a second-day score of 290 to finish with a final mark of 579, good for a fourth-place finish out of 18 teams.  Taking home first place was No. 15 Greensboro (282-289—571), one shot ahead of LaGrange College (283-289—572).  No. 4 and host Oglethorpe was third at 575 (282-293).

Freshman Matt Organisak turned in another strong effort, registering his second straight two-under par 70, with his two-day of 140 ranking fifth in the 102-player field.  In addition, Organisak's final total 36-hole performance tied the program's fourth-best effort for a two-round tourney and tied him with Rod Olivero for the best Emory score recorded at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational.  Juniors Sean Murphy and Keenan Hickton each totaled one-over par 73, with Murphy ending the tourney at even-par 144, tying for 10th place on the leader board, and Hickton placing 19th at three-over par 147.  Freshman Sam Galloway rounded out Emory's Tuesday scorers with a 74 that left him at 152.  Sophomore Anthony Muscato carded a second-round 79 and ended up with a 153.

Playing as individuals were freshman Chuck Isgar and sophomore Stefano Butti. Isgar registered an even-par 72 to finish seventh on the leader board with a 142, and Butti a 76 with his final mark of 147 tying for 19th.
