Rochester Tied For Fourth After Day One at Middlebury

Rochester's golf team shot a combined 306 score on day one of the Duke Nelson Invitational at Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College on Saturday.

The team score has the Yellowjackets in a tie for 4th place of 22 teams in the overall scoring, trailing leaders Skidmore (296), host Middlebury (297) and Amherst (302).

Rochester was paced in the opening round by freshman Jack Mulligan who carded a 73 (+2) on the par-71 course.  Senior co-captain Jona Scott finished his Saturday round with a 77 (+6) to be UR's second low score on the day.  He sits in a tie for 25th of the 114 man field.

Junior Jason Paek and classmate Corey Mitchener each shot opening round 78's (+7) to round out the Yellowjackets best 4-of-5 scoring while senior co-captain Daniel Luftspring was one stroke back with a 79.  Paek and Mitchener are in a tie for 39th while Luftspring is T-47th.

UR also brought one individual to the event in junior Scott Chudacoff.  He opened the tournament with a 76 and is in a tie for 19th place after round one.
