Tartans Ninth After Second Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second day of the 2018 Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday. The Tartans are currently in ninth after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 589 (296-293) after carding a 293 on Saturday. The three-day event is being played on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island. The field is comprised of 30 teams which has 14 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III including four of the top five.

Senior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) carded an even par 72 on Saturday afternoon and has a 36-hole score of 145 (73-72). The senior added four birdies in the second round and now has 11 for the tournament. Senior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) has a 147 (73-74) after firing a two-over par 74

Freshman Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) carded a one-over par 73 and has a 36-hole score of 149 (76-73). The freshman carded four birdies on Saturday, as did classmate Trevor Arashiro (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani), who shot a two-over 74. Arashiro has a two-round score of 153 (79-74) heading into play Sunday. Junior Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) currently has a 158 (74-84).

Carnegie Mellon had two individuals play on the par-72 Oleander Course. Freshman Aryan Chordia (Dubai, UAE/Jumeriah College) has a 36-hole score of 156 (80-76) while freshman Ben Huber (Hampton, Pa.) has a 158 (82-76).
