New York University men's golf Head Coach Brad Johnson was named Golf Pride Grips Division III Northeast Regional Coach of the Year, it was recently announced.

Johnson, who finished his second season with the Violets last month, was honored for helping to lead the squad to the Liberty League Championship and an automatic berth in the NCAA Championship. It was the first time NYU qualified for the national event in a decade. 

The Violets won four tournaments this season, including the annual NYU Spring Invitational, which took place in early April at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, NJ. 

All five golfers who competed for the Violets this postseason are set to return to the squad for the 2018-19 season.
