The New York University men's golf team has completed the third and final round of the Jekyll Island Men's Collegiate Invitational, which was held Friday-Sunday, March 16-18, on Jekyll Island, GA.

This was the squad's first time participating in this prestigious tournament.

The Violets shot 300 on Sunday and finished the tournament in 16th place, one spot above University Athletic Association opponent University of Rochester.

Methodist University (853) won the invitational, which featured 30 teams and 150 golfers.

Robbie Keyes shot NYU's low score of the tournament, posting a three-under-par 69. He finished with a total score of 215 (75-71-69) and tied for 13th place.

Matt Shen (74-79-76) and Luke Oberholtzer (80-70-80) finished off the tournament by shooting 76 and 80, respectively, and producing total scores of 229 and 230. Patrick McNary (76-79-78) and Kelly Sun (75-84-77) ended slightly below them with final scores of 233 and 235, respectively.

"It was a huge team effort the whole weekend," said Head Coach Brad Johnson. "We were able to beat some of the top teams in the country, and finishing 16th should increase our national ranking dramatically."
