Rochester is Seventh at Hershey, Round Two Canceled

On a tightly packed leaderboard, the University of Rochester ended in seventh place of 15 teams after round one of the Hershey Cup tournament at Hershey Country Club. Day two of the tournament was canceled due to multiple inches of snow falling overnight at the course.
 
The Yellowjackets ended Sunday's opening round with a score of 314, 30-over. UR finished only eight strokes out of second place.  Kenyon College was the leader after 18 holes with the only sub-300 score of the day, shooting a 299 (15-over) and ended up with the team trophy. RPI is in second place (306), tied with Washington & Lee (306).  Kenyon's Ryan Muthiora was the medalist after shooting an even-par score of 71.
 
Sophomore Jack Mulligan is in solo eighth place after 18 holes, carding a 75 on Sunday for Rochester. First-year teammate Steven Zeng ranked tied for 24th with a seven-over round of 78.
 
Aleksander Overli, another UR first-year golfer also broke 80, finishing with a seven-over 79 on the day, while senior Jason Paek completed Rochester's 4-of-5 scorers by shooting an opening round 82 (11-over, T63).
 
UR's starting lineup was completed by Ryan Dougherty who is tied for 73rd after an 84.
 
The Yellowjackets also had two individuals competing, and senior Corey Mitchener carded a Sunday score of 79 (8-over) to sit in a tie for 31st, while first-year Declan Hickton shot an 84 and was tied for 73rd.
