The University of Rochester golf team finished out a solid tournament, scoring below 300 in both rounds to finish in a tie for 7th place at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Invitational on Sunday morning at Royal Lakes Golf Club.

Overall 16 of the 18 teams in the event were either in the NCAA Division III top-25 or receiving votes in the latest Golf Coaches Association Poll.  Rochester, ranked #22, finished with a two day total of 591 after tallying a score of 294 in round two.

Tournament officials decided to play 27 holes during Saturday's first day of play to try and finish the event before heavy rains came into the area on Sunday, meaning only nine holes were played on the final day.

Over those final nine holes, first-year Aleksander Overli finished even par and shot a 76 (+4) in round two to end in a tie for 43rd place overall.

Sitting at +1 for the final nine holes of the event were senior Jason Paek and sophomore Jack Mulligan who ended the tournament in a tie for 16th among the 102 total golfers.  Mulligan's second round score was a 2-under par 70 while Paek carded a 1-over par 73.

First-year Declan Hickton finished off his second round going +4 over the nine holes on Sunday, finishing with a 75 over the second 18-holes.  He finished in a tie for 36th place, while classmate Steven Zeng went 5-over in the final holes and finished in a tie for 78th, shooting 79 in his second round.

Playing as an individual, first-year Ryan Dougherty finished in a tie for 80th after carding an 82 in the second round.  He shot +4 in his nine holes played on Sunday.
