Yellowjackets Sit Atop Leaderboard After Day 1 of Roberts Wesleyan Invitational

Both University of Rochester squads competing at the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawk Invitational sit in a tie for 1st place among eight teams after round one at Ridgemont Country Club on Sunday.
 
UR's 'A' and 'B' teams both shot team scores of 307 to hold a three-stroke edge over host Roberts Wesleyan College's 'A' squad.
 
Overall, the Yellowjackets hold down the top three spots in the individual leaderboard on the par-72, 6,503-yard layout.  First-year Alexander Overli is the day one leader with an even-par 72, playing on UR's 'A' team.  Sophomore Ashin Chadha carded an opening round 2-over 74 to sit in second place while classmate Jack Mulligan fired a 3-over, 75 to kick off the tournament.  Both Chadha and Mulligan are playing on UR's 'B' team this week.
 
Two more 'Jackets are in a seven-way tie for fourth after day one.  Senior Jason Paek and first-year Steven Zeng, both playing for the 'A' team had 77's.  Scott Chudacoff opened with a 78 for UR's 'B' team and is in a tie for 11th.
 
Ryan Dougherty, last week's top UR finisher at the St. John Fisher Invite, is 15th after opening with an 80 for the 'B' squad while Corey Mitchener rounds out the scoring for the 'A' group with an 81 (T-16th).
 
Matt Perez completes the UR 'B' squad, sitting in T-20th after an 82 on Sunday while first-year classmate Declan Hickton carded an 85 and is in a tie for 25th after Sunday's round, completing the five 'A' squad golfers.  Overall, 39 golfers are entered in the event.
