NYU Ties For Third at Saratoga Invitational

New York University's men's golf team landed in a three-way tie for third place at the Saratoga National Invitational, which was held at the par-72 Saratoga National Golf Course in Saratoga Springs, NY, on October 9-10.

NYU shot a two-day total of 604, which was even with host Skidmore College and Hamilton College. The trio finished three strokes behind second-place Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (601).

Babson College claimed victory by a wide margin (590).

The end of Saturday's first round saw NYU with sole possession of third place with a score of 299. But, the Violets' second round  total of 305 allowed Skidmore and Hamilton to catch up.

Joseph Burlison's (Salinas, CA/Palma) consistent play paced the Violets, shooting 74 both days and finishing with a four-over par 148 that tied for fourth individually in a field of 45 golfers.

Jorge Montero (Madrid, Spain/Logos International School) also finished within the top-10 individuals, totaling 150 (76-74) that landed him in an eighth-place tie.

Kevin Kim (Katy, TX/James E. Taylor) and Chris Lee (Palisades Park, NJ/Bergen Catholic) rounded out NYU's scoring, tying each other for 17th individually as both shot 153 strokes on the weekend.

Charles Hsieh (Atherton, CA/Menlo School) also competed for the Violets, totaling 168 across the 36 holes.
