From Case Western Reserve University Athletics
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team has been honored for its work in the classroom with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 10th-consecutive year. The Spartan men posted a team grade point average of 3.43 in 2012-13 to rank tied for 10th in the nation across all divisions.
Along with earning the team award 10 years in a row, Case Western Reserve has ranked in the top 10 in six of the last eight seasons.
Case Western Reserve University was also one of 184 colleges and universities to have both its men's and women's teams honored.
Earlier this fall, nine Spartan men's soccer student-athletes were named to the University Athletic Association Fall All-Academic Team. Within the UAA, All-Academic recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.300.
