Rochester Men's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

The Men's Soccer Team at the University of Rochester has been honored for collective academic achievement by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) again following the 2013 season.

The team was awarded the NSCAA's Team Academic Award. It is presented to teams that have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) counting every player on the roster.

For the 2013 award, Rochester's men compiled a 3.32 GPA.  Overall, 869 teams (273 men, 596 women across all Divisions of competition earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award.  
 
This is Rochester's 12th straight year earning the award for outstanding academics.
 
This year, Rochester completed the 2013 season with a 15-3-2 record and won the University Athletic Association title with a 5-1-1 conference record.  Rochester is one of six UAA teams to earn the NSCAA Team Academic award.  The Yellowjackets reached the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 for just the third time in program history this season.
 
Junior Alex Swanger was also recently honored individually as a 2nd Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA.
