From NYU Athletics
Liam
Stimpson of the New York University men's soccer
team was named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Divison III Metro Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, October
7.
The freshman midfielder led the Violets (10-1, 1-0 University
Athletic Association) to a 2-0 week, scoring four goals in the
process. In NYU's 7-0 win vs. Farmingdale State
College on Tuesday night, September 30, at Gaelic Park
in Riverdale, NY, Stimpson recorded his first-career hat-trick. He
followed that up with one of NYU's two goals in its 2-0
victory over the University of Rochester at Gaelic Park,
on Saturday, October 4, to open up UAA play.
The Newport Beach, CA, native, currently leads the Violets in
points (15) and goals (6).
This is the second honor of the week for Stimpson, who was
also named Disney Soccer/NSCAA Division III Player of
the Week on Tuesday. These are the first two honors of
his career.
