From University of Rochester Athletics

A second half scoring outburst lifted the University of Rochester men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Salisbury University in the 1st Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday evening.

Rochester (10-5-3) got goals from Ben Swanger, Jeff Greblick, Seth Davis-Brown and Andrew Greenway in a balanced effort to top the Sea Gulls (12-3-5).

After an evenly played first half which saw UR hold a 4-1 shot edge, the Yellowjackets tilted the field in their direction for much of the final 45 minutes.14396

Ben Swanger kicked off the scoring for UR.

It was brother to brother for the first goal, with senior Alex Swanger running up the right side and sending a cross to younger brother, sophomore Ben Swanger for a 1-0 lead at 49:11.

Less than four minutes later, sophomore Jeff Greblick would double the score when he dribbled a deflected ball in the box past SU keeper Drew Staedeli for a 2-0 edge.

The 'Jackets would keep the pedal to the floor, scoring at 64:26 when sophomore Zachary Kanaley crossed a great ball from the left sideline to the foot of senior Seth Davis-Brown, making the score 3-0.  Junior Andrew Greenway completed the scoring with just over 10 minutes left when he tapped in a cross from senior Ben Keeton.

Overall, the Yellowjackets held a 12-4 shot advantage and took seven corners to Salisbury's four.  UR goalie Michael Shatkin didn't have to make a save but was tested on SU's corner kicks.  Staedeli made one save in goal for the Sea Gulls.
