NYU Halts Skid, Tops Brooklyn 4-0

The New York University men's soccer team picked up its fifth victory of the season on Friday night, October 23, with a 4-0 win over Brooklyn College on the road in Brooklyn.

The Violets' (5-10) victory halts a four-game losing streak as they defeated the Bulldogs (8-7-2) in a one-sided affair. Four different Violets scored in the victorious effort, while junior goalkeepr Lucas Doucette recorded six saves for his second shutout of the season.

"It was a total team effort with all the players getting time on the field," said NYU Head Coach Kim Wyant. "Four different players scored and Lucas got the shutout. We saw many things that we've been emphasizing in practice and if we continue on the path we've set, we'll see the results we're seeking."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Ricardo Mitrano scored the first goal for the Violets -- the game-winner -- for his third score of the year.

- Tristan Medios-Simon scored his second goal of the season for NYU to give his squad a 2-0 lead.

- Bryan Walsh also scored his third goal of the seaosn for the Violets.

- Evan Reifsnyder gave NYU the 4-0 lead with his first-collegiate goal.
