The New York University men's soccer team picked up the 2-1 victory over Farmingdale State College on Tuesday night, October 6, on the road in Farmingdale, NY.

The Violets (4-6) got their offense from Malcolm Montilus and Ricardo Mitrano. In the 30th minute to give NYU the 1-0 lead, Montilus got free on a breakaway and put the ball past the Rams' (6-5) keeper for his third goal of the season.

NYU came out of the lockerroom with the lead, but Farmingdale State evened it up at 1-1 in the 69th minute. The tie was short-live though, as Mitrano came back for the Violets to score the game-winner in the 72nd minute. The NYU rookie took a pass from Tristan Medios-Simon down the sideline. Mitrano booted it from 10 yards out to beat the Rams' keeper once more for his second-career goal.

"The guys handled themselves with great composure when Farmingdale equalized," continued Wyant. "We stayed mentally focused and were able to get the go-ahead goal and finish the match out strong."
