Max Lopez led a contingent of four University of Chicago men's soccer players who were selected as 2017 D3soccer.com All-Americans on Saturday.

Lopez earned recognition as a First Team All-American and D3soccer.com Forward of the Year. His junior campaign featured 19 goals, four assists and 42 points – the second-most season goals and points in UChicago history. He is now a two-time First Team All-American from both D3soccer.com and the United Soccer Coaches (USC). Lopez tallied eight game-winning goals and was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Most Valuable Player.
Forward Matthew Koh joined his classmate on the All-America First Team. The junior was second on the team in scoring with 10 goals, 11 assists and 31 points. His 25 career assists rank second in the school record books. Koh's 11 assists on the year were fourth most in program history.
Dayo Adeosun was Second Team All-American in the midfield. The sophomore's 15 assists were the most in UChicago history for a season, and ranked third overall in NCAA Division III at the end of 2017. He also added three goals to give him 21 points on the year.
Nicco Capotosto earned his second-straight All-American accolade on the Third Team. Last year, the junior defensive midfielder was a First Team D3soccer.com All-American and a Second Team USC All-American. Capotosto was an integral part of a defensive unit that tallied 11 shutouts and a 0.64 goals against average. He also dished out one assist.
The 2017 Maroons went 19-2-2 and reached the NCAA Semifinals for the second time in program history. The 19 victories were a new UChicago record, and the offense set new school marks for goals (59), assists (54) and points (172).
