Jason McCartney (Emory) scored twice in a 3-1 Eagles’ win over Dickinson College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. With a 1-0 victory over Lynchburg College, the Eagles earned a trip to the sectional round for the third time in program history and first since 2008.  Cole Gallagher saved nine shots in the two wins, yielding just one goal… Matthew Koh (Chicago) tallied both goals as the Maroons defeated second round opponent Capital University, 2-0, to advance to the sectional round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship for the second consecutive season. Isaiah Holquist led the defense from the left outside back position as the Maroons outshot their opponents by a combined 50-16 total … Alex Di Perna (Rochester) scored the game-winning goal with just over six minutes to play as the Yellowjackets upended sixth-ranked State University of New York at Oneonta, 2-1. He assisted on the team’s first goal, which was scored by Mitch Volis. Redd Brown made eight saves, allowing only two goals, in the two wins. He stopped a penalty kick with 1:01 remaining to preserve the win over Oneonta… The Yellowjackets advanced to the sectional round for the first time since 2013.
