Washington Men Finish Second at 30th Annual WU Invite

The Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming & diving team finished as the runner-up at the 30th Annual WU Invite held Friday and Saturday at Millstone Pool.

The Washington U. women scored 1,139 points to win the team title over NCAA Division II Lindenwood University, who finished second with 855. DePauw University was third in the women's team standings with 760 points. Lindenwood claimed the men's team title with 894.5 points, while the WUSTL men finished second with 740 and NCAA Division II Missouri University of Science & Technology place third with 698.

Freshman Matt Liu (200 IM – 1:57.36), and sophomores RJ Petrella (200 backstroke – 1:59.07) and Reed Dalton (100 butterfly – 52.80) each had runner-up finishes for the WUSTL men. Liu also added a third-place finish in the 400 IM (4:18.04). Junior Luke Dobben, Petrella, and juniors Will Miller and Matt Nutter teamed up to finish second in the 800-free relay (7:07.55). Dobben also placed third in the 500 free (4:40.25), and junior Zane Turpin was third in the 1,650 free (16:26.44). The 200-medley relay team of sophomore Laisen Yao, senior Brian Carpenter, Dalton and Nutter posted a third-place finish in 1:36.05.
