NYU Men's Swimming & Diving Wins Final Dual Meet

New York University's men's swimming & diving team defeated host Vassar College (186-103) on Saturday, January 25, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
 
Junior Jerry Crowley won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:37.25), the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.54) and was a member of the winning 400-yard medley relay (3:37.65). Crowley has been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week twice this season.
 
HIGHLIGHTS:
 
- Junior divers swept the competition. Austen Blease won the one-meter with a NCAA-qualifying score of 287.48 and was also victorious in the three-meter (274.72). Brian Blum placed second in both the one-meter (252.60) and the three-meter (238.42).

"Another great day for NYU diving," said Diving Coach Scott Donie. "We now have four divers qualified for the NCAA regional meet. I am extremely proud."

- Freshman Max Phillips won the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.01)
 
- Senior Phil Wiesel was victorious in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.80).

- Freshman Alex O'Laughlin took first in the 100-yard backstroke (53.28).

- Freshman Ethan Louie won the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.07) and the 100-yard freestyle (49.83).
 
"We had some great performances by a lot of our freshmen today," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "We are in a good place to be preparing for the UAA's."
