Carnegie Mellon Finishes Fourth at UAA Championships

As the final results were calculated from the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming and Diving Championships, which took place over three days and in two cities, the Carnegie Mellon University men's team finished fourth with 1,116 points. Emory University squeaked out the team victory by 3.5 points over the University of Chicago.

Sophomore Matthew Nielsen (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) earned a second-place finish in the 400-yard IM after winning the event at Emory in 4:01.13. University of Chicago's Jonas Fowler topped his time in the event hosted by Case Western Reserve University to take the individual championship with a time of 4:00.93.

Sophomore Alex Dintino (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) place third overall in the 100-yard backstroke in 51.10 to earn All-UAA honors, while freshman Brian Walsh (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) took third in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:50.53 to also earn honors.
