From NYU Athletics
The New York University men's swimming & diving squad
completed competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA)
Championships in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday, February 15.
However, due to the latest winter storm in the South and Northeast,
the scores and standings are not final for the swimmers. Only
five of the eight UAA squads were able to make it to the site
(Emory, NYU, Brandeis, Carnegie Mellon, Washington). The three
other squads (Case Western Reserve, Chicago, Rochester) are
competing together at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. Once
the three squads in Cleveland complete competition tomorrow, the
final scores and standings will be tallied.
Diving, however, did compete fully in Atlanta. NYU was led
by Austen Blease, who finished first in the
one-meter dive with a score of 526.10, a new UAA record. He also
shattered his own previous NYU team record of 512.50.
"Best men's one-meter contest I've ever seen at UAA's," said UAA
Men's Diving Coach of the Year and NYU Diving Coach Scott
Donie. "Austen was in the zone all day."
