Andrew Wilson Breaks NCAA Division III Record Twice, Wins National Title in 200 IM at NCAA Championships

Junior Andrew Wilson of Emory University broke a 17-year-old NCAA Division III record in the preliminaries and then topped his own time to win the national championship in the 200-yard individual medley at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Shenandoah, TX.

His preliminary time of 1:46.25 broke the previous record of 1:46.97 set by Gary Simon of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in 1998. He then won the national championship with a time of 1:46.23.

Wilson is now the NCAA Division III record-holder in three events. He set the DIII marks in the 100-yard breaststroke (53.41 seconds) and 200-yard breastroke (1:57.18) at the Miami University Invitational earlier this season.
