Maroons Wrap Up Competition at Day Two of NCAA Diving Regional

The University of Chicago men's diving team wrapped up hosting duties at day two of the 2015 NCAA Division III Region 1 Diving Championship with more standout performances on Saturday.

The two-day meet concluded with the women's three-meter dive and the men's one-meter dive. Maria Zarka of Kenyon College won the women's event with a score of 524.05. One day after handily winning the men's three-meter dive, Denison University's Connor Dignan completed the sweep in the one-meter with a mark of 557.75.

Senior Anthony Restaino was the high finisher for the Maroons for the second time in as many events. Restaino placed fourth in a tight pack of divers, scoring a total of 515.00 points. Fellow senior Matthew Staab took eighth with a score of 495.50. Freshman Dean Boures ended up in 15th with 438.90 points and senior Kevin Steffes was 22nd with 417.30 points.

Restaino and Staab are both likely to earn selection to the NCAA Division III Championships. The official list of national qualifiers will be released by the NCAA on Monday, March 2.
