From University of Rochester Athletics
Rochester's men finished with two NCAA provisional
qualifying results and broke another school record on the final day
of the University Athletic Association Swimming & Diving
Championships at Emory University.
The Yellowjackets finished with 669 points and were seventh
out of eight schools. Host Emory won the men's title.
Gunnar Zemering produced an NCAA provisional time and broke
his own school record in the process. He finished in the top eight,
again. Zemering was fourth in the 100 yard freestyle, timed in
:45.13. That is almost a full second faster than the 100 free
record –set by Zemering at the Liberty League championship
meet on campus in December. He swam a :46.04 at the Liberty League
meet to break the mark for the first time this season. Now, he's
done it again.
Zemering's clocking surpassed the last time selected for the
2014 NCAA Championship Meet.
The other provisional qualifier was James Frauen. He was
timed in 1:52.59 in the 200 yard backstroke where he finished
in 10th place.
In Saturday's final session, Mitchell Gray was
20th overall in the 1,650 yard
freestyle with a time of 17:01.22. Brian Wong finished
20th in the 200 yard butterfly,
clocked in 1:55.64. That is 1.47 seconds behind his school record
for the event.
