Andrew Wilson Shatters NCAA Division III Record in Winning 100 Breaststroke, McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg Becomes First Emory Woman to Win NCAA Title in Butterfly

It was a historic day for Emory men's and women's swimming during the third day of the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Junior Andrew Wilson won the national title in the 100-yard breastroke in a time of 51.72, shattering his own record set this morning in the preliminaries in 52.59 seconds. It his second NCAA title at this year's championship, breaking the NCAA record in both events in the prelim and finals. Wilson entered the day as the record-holder in the 100 breast with a time of 53.41 seconds set earlier this season at Miami University.

Senior McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg captured the national title in the 200-yard butterfly. In the process, she became the first woman in Emory program history to win a national championship in any butterfly event.
