Reed Dalton of Washington Breaks NCAA Division III Record Twice, Wins National Title in 100 Butterfly

Junior Reed Dalton of Washington University broke the NCAA Division III record in the preliminaries and then broke that record to capture the national title in the 100-yard butterfly at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Shenandoah, TX.

Dalton recorded a preliminary time of 47.10 seconds to better the previous record of 47.34 seconds set by Wyatt Ubellacker of Masschusetts Institute of Technology in 2013. He then won the national championship in the evening session with a record-setting time of 46.97 seconds.

Dalton won the event in a UAA championship record-setting time of 48.12 seconds.
