Spartans Sweep Grove City & Gannon in Tri-Meet

The Case Western Reserve University Men's Swimming and Diving Team completed an undefeated month of November on Saturday afternoon, sweeping a tri-meet against Gannon University and Grove City College at the Veale Natatorium.

The Spartan men earned a 162-118 win over Gannon, and a 220-74 victory against Grove City.

The Case Western Reserve men improved to 7-1 on the year with the wins.

Senior diver Connor Farrell once again turned in a strong performance on the boards, registering NCAA qualifying scores in each event.  Farrell notched a score of 295.05 in the one-meter dive, followed by a mark of 312.75 in the three-meter dive, to win each event.

The Spartan men opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, with sophomore Oliver Hudgins, senior Elliott Kerbel, senior Alec David and senior Aaron Tam finishing first with a time of 1:37.19.  Each of the relay members would go on to win an individual event on Saturday as well, with Hudgins finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.45), Kerbel claiming a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.49), Tam winning the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.70) and David placing first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.05 seconds).

Other first-place finishers for the men included sophomore Evan Rose in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.20) and freshman Brody Schmidt in the 500-yard freestyle (4:51.33).
