The Emory University men's swimming team returned to action following the holiday break on Friday evening, falling to Division II member Florida Southern.
The Eagles placed first in four of the 13 events at the meet with freshman Thomas Gordon in the 1,000 Freestyle (9:55.10), sophomore Oliver Smith in the 50 Free (21.29) and juniors Mitchell Cooper in the 200 IM (1:53.77) and Christian Baker in the in the 500 Free (4:38.27).
Cooper added two second place finishes against the Mocs in the 100 Backstroke (50.33) and 200 Backstroke (1:54.00). His 100 Back time represented the lone NCAA "B" Cut time swam by any Eagle on either the men's or women's teams on the afternoon.
