NYU Stands in 11th Place at NCAA Championships

Six members of New York University's men's swimming team competed during Thursday night's session of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, which are being held on Wednesday-Saturday, March 16-19, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC.

The Violets are currently in 11th place out of 35 teams with 61 points, trailing first-place Kenyon College, who have 272.5 points.

Sophomore Austin Palmer added to his sixth-place finish in yesterday's 500-yard freestyle by capturing fourth place in the finals of the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:55.63. The Fayetteville, GA, native picked up his second All-America honor of the meet.

"Austin's performance was unbelievable," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "He continues to have an amazing meet and it's great to see his hard work pay off." 

HIGHLIGHTS:

- The 400-yard IM proved to be a strong event for NYU, as freshman Reid Hensen placed fourth in the consolation finals (3:59.37) to take 12th overall and Honorable Mention All-America accolades.

- Sophomore Adam Betts, sophomore Tim Kou, junior captain Daniel Tay, and sophomore Chad Moody teamed up to take seventh place in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:18.62.
