The Case Western Reserve University men's swimming and diving team earned a 99-98 victory over Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday.
On the men's side, finishing first in the 200-yard medley relay were junior Oliver Hudgins, freshman A.J. Quinn, junior Logan Smith and sophomore Brody Schmidt with a time of 1:40.12. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hudgins, Schmidt, junior Drew Hamilton and senior Andrew Henning also took first place with a time of 1:28.76, which is a new Baldwin Wallace pool record.
A total of eight Spartan men won individual events, with Hamilton winning both the 1650-yard freestyle (16:38.25, a new BW pool record) and the 100-yard IM (56.78), Schmidt finishing first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.41) and in the 100-yard freestyle (48.87), Smith claiming the win in the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.64) and freshman John Libert winning the 50-yard backstroke (26.43) and the 50-yard butterfly (24.30). Additionally, Hudgins won the 100-yard butterfly (52.57), Henning won the 100-yard backstroke (56.64) and freshman Tom Schlechter took the 500-yard freestyle (4:52.48).
