The Emory University Men's Swimming and Diving team concluded its three days of swimming at the Miami and SCAD Invitationals on Saturday night. The Eagles came in second place at the Miami Invite and were third at the SCAD Invitational.
Emory finished with 785.5 points across the three days in Oxford while the Blue and Gold in Savannah wrapped up competition with 470 points in Savannah. On Saturday, the Eagles continued their impressive meet with another three school records being broken including another Division III record.
Senior Christian Baker began the evening by besting his previous school top mark in the 1,650 Freestyle. Baker posted a time of 15.20.57 to take third in the event. His previous top time was 15:20.79 that he set at last year's Miami Invite.
Junior Oliver Smith broke the second school record on the night as the junior took first in the 100 Free with a time of 44.34. Smith broke his previous program high-mark of 44.43 that he set at last year's NCAA Championships. Baker added a NCAA qualifying time in the 200 Fly
Senior Andrew Wilson closed out his impressive Miami Invitational, setting his third Division III individual record and fifth overall over the three days, taking first in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:51.15. Wilson broke his previous Division III top mark of 1:52.97 that he set at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
Other swimmers registering NCAA qualifying marks on Saturday at Miami were: sophomore Thomas Gordon in the 1650 Free (4th, 15:32.85), junior Henry Copses in the 1650 Free (8th, 15:51.59), senior Mitchell Cooper in the 1650 Free (13th, 16:03.60), sophomore Matt Rogers in the 200 Back (3rd, 1:48.29), sophomore Zachary Chen in the 200 Back (9th, 1:50.16), junior Alexander Hardwick in the 100 Free (2nd, 44.90 – prelims), sophomore Trey Kolleck in the 100 Free (3rd, 45.13 – prelims) and the 400 Free Relay of Hardwick, Kolleck, senior Hayes Burdette-Sapp and Smith (1st, 2:59.03).
