Emory Swimmers Set for Olympic Team Trials in Omaha from June 26 - July 3

Emory University swimmers Andrew Wilson, Christian Baker and Oliver Smith will represent the Eagles at the 2016 Olympic Team Trials at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb. from June 26th through July 3rd.

The trials will be shown exclusively across NBC networks and mobile platforms. NBC Sports will live stream the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials beginning on June 26th and continuing through July 3rd with prelims being shown live daily at 11 a.m. Eastern Time on the NBC Sports app. NBC's comprehensive live streaming from the Trials will include all of the prelims and finals sessions.

Wilson, a 12-time All-American and the all-time leader in Emory men's history with five event national titles to his credit, will be competing in both the 100 and 200 LCM Breaststroke events. He enters competition with the third-fastest seed time in the 100 Breast (59.65) and the fifth-fastest seed time in the 200 Breast (2:09.84). The preliminaries of the 100 Breast will take place during the morning session on Sunday, June 26th with the semifinals happening later in the evening on Sunday and the finals taking place on Monday, June 27th. The prelims and semifinals of the 200 Breast are scheduled for Wednesday, June 29th with the finals taking place on Thursday, June 30th.

Baker, an All-American in six events for the Eagles at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships and an eight-time All-American in his career, will compete in the 400 LCM Freestyle event after swimming an Olympic trials cut time of 3:56.92 earlier this month. Baker will enter with the 59th fastest seed time out of 112 swimmers in the event. The preliminaries of the 400 Free is scheduled for the morning session on Sunday, June 26th with the finals to follow during the evening session.

Smith, a national champion in three events at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships and a six-time All-American in his career, will compete in the 50 LCM Freestyle event to close out the Olympic Team Trials for the Eagles. Smith enters with the 119th fastest seed time out of 177 swimmers in the event with a mark of 23.19. The 50 Free preliminaries and semifinals are set for Friday, July 1st with the finals taking place on Saturday, June 2nd.

The Olympic Team Trials serves as the only selection meet for swimmers to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team with the top two fastest swimmers in each event qualifying to swim for the U.S. Olympic Team at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro from August 5th through the 21st.

The official 2016 U.S. Olympic Swim Team will be announced on Monday, July 4th.
