Drew Hamilton of CWRU Earns All-America Honorable Mention During Day 1 of NCAA Championships

Case Western Reserve University junior Drew Hamilton finished 15th in the men's 500-yard freestyle to claim an All-America Honorable Mention certificate during the first day of competition at the 2017 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Shenandoah, Texas.

Hamilton finished 15th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:30.51. This is Hamilton's fourth All-American certificate in his career, and first in the 500-yard freestyle. Earlier in the day, he finished 13th in the preliminaries of the event with a time of 4:30.41.

Action at the meet will resume on Thursday from the CISD Natatorium. Scheduled to be in action for the Spartans during the second day of competition is Hamilton in the 400-individual medley (seeded 16th with a time of 4:00.10).
