Gabe Bamforth of Carnegie Mellon Earns All-America Distinction on 1-Meter Diving Board

Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) earned All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Chamionships on Thursday, March 16 for his efforts on the 1-meter diving board.

Bamforth, who was an All-America Honorable Mention on the 3-meter diving board last year, finished eighth on the 1-meter board Thursday to become the first men's diver in school history to earn All-America honors on the lower board. Bamforth registered 414.95 points in the finals after qualifying in the top eight with a score of 467.95 in the preliminaries.
